Retrace the roots of Kentucky art-rock band Slint in new documentary Breadcrumb Trail

Photo via facebook.com/slintWhen they emerged in the late ’80s as band of teenagers from the countryside, Slint made great music that managed to stay below the radar. Their debut album Tweez arrived in 1989, but their critically acclaimed masterpiece Spiderland came in 1991. A mix of art-rock and emo, the album didn’t stir major buzz upon release and they disbanded soon after but outlets like Pitchfork, NME and Spin, retrospectively attend to its brilliance featuring it in “best-of” lists. Slint reunited to play shows in 2005, 2007, and most recently last year. But the story doesn’t end there. In fact, Bad Grandpa cinematographer/director Lance Bangs decided he’d tell the rest of it via a documentary centered on the band and its Louisville roots. PhilaMOCA will screen the Philadelphia premiere of Breadcrumb Trail followed by a feature-length presentation of other musical short-films for two consecutive nights, March 14th and 15th.
