Cool and mysterious enough to be on a noir film soundtrack yet hip enough to blaze urban radio airwaves is probably the best way to describe local newcomers Marian Hill who play their first show ever tonight at Boot and Saddle. Samantha Gongol is a sultry singer whose jazzy flavor shines over Jeremy Lloyd’s mesmerizing hip-hop beats. The duo is new to the wave of electro-R&B that’s taking shape with bands like Inc. and Young and Sick. Get tickets here and check out “Lovit” and “One Time” below from their debut EP which arrives March 4th.

The Philadelphia Jazz Project‘s house band will grace the World Cafe Live stage for its monthly show. Tonight, they pay tribute to legendary saxophone player John Coltrane. Dewey Decibel, P.U.R.E., Selina Carrera, and Toby will also perform at the event. Get tickets here and listen to Coltrane’s “In A Sentimental Mood” below.

New to the alt-rock scene is Philly’s Sad Actor who will play at Ortlieb’s Lounge tonight. Check out “Pushing Towards the End” below and get tickets here.
