Mike Bell & The Movies play The Fire tonight.  The power pop / punk band out of Philadelphia (featuring members of Algernon Cadwallader and Dangerous Ponies) released a new record called Nothing Works a few weeks ago, following up their Stuck in a T.V. debut.  Their sound is fast-paced and fun, crossing Weezer with Elvis Costello.  Check out the LP below and get more information for tonight’s show here.

Experimental four-piece The Jawn headline a local show at M Room tonight.  Closing out its first year as a band last month, The Jawn play a style of music that moves from angular and psych-rocky to jamming and fluid.  They play with Shinobi Ninja, Yeah Son!, Astronauts Really Fly and Wonder and Fury.  Tickets and information can be found here.

Cold Fronts play their first headlining show at Johnny Brenda’s tonight.  Joined by Philly friends Weekender and Cruiser, along with Brooklyn’s Cult Fever, the indie rockers will deliver their high-energy, pop-informed performance that has won fans over across the country.  The West Philly bred outfit are currently working on a major label debut for Warner Brothers / Sire Records.  Tickets and information can be found here.
