Renowned local cellist Dan Kassel will bring his virtuosic musicianship to the World Cafe Live stage tonight. Kassel released his new album Tribes Forgotten in February which he says “is meant to take the listener to great heights and over vast expanse.” He certainly does capture atmospheric unity and tensions throughout the record all centered around his somber cello. Listen to “Ascension” below and get tickets here.

Delicate Steve aka multi-instrumentalist Steve Marion will present his eclectic instrumental R&B to the crowd at Tellus 360 tonight. Marion released his sophomore album Positive Force back in 2012 and has been relatively quiet since then but fortunately he’s out on the road impressing audiences with his brilliance. Listen to “Ramona Reborn” below and get tickets here.

World music group Fishtank Ensemble will rock the Musikfest Cafe stage tonight with its globally-influenced sounds. According to the band, their new album Edge of the World was inspired by “the Baroque era to 1920′s Greece, from 30′s Paris and back to 1980′s Los Angeles”. Watch them play at Red Poppy Art House below and get tickets here.
