Glasgow-based power trio PAWS are wasting no time in following up their debut LP with the new Youth Culture Forever, out via FatCat Records on May 6th. The band is built on very 90s walls of sound (think Yo La Tengo, Sonic Youth, Superchunk) but cut with a very personal lyrical perspective that shines through at their rare quiet moments. Below, get an acoustic taste of “Tongues” from the new album, and find tickets and information about tonight’s tour kickoff show at Boot and Saddle with We Are Scientists here.

The smooth-voices José James returns to World Cafe Live tonight for a headlining show. The 36-year-old musician is still on tour in support of No Beginning, No End, his 2013 Blue Note Records release that blended vocal jazz stylings with hiphop textures. Below, watch a clip of his performance at World Cafe Live from last fall, and get more info on the show here.

Expressive, punk-rooted Detroit rockers Protomartyr headline Kung Fu Necktie tonight, and who better to share the bill with them than expressive, punk-rooted Philadelphia rockers Amanda X? Listen to tracks from both bands below and find out more about the show here.
