We are positively AMPED that R5 Productions just announced they are bringing Toronto art-punks Fucked Up to Morgan’s Pier for a free show on July 2nd. Amped because they are an unbelievable high-energy live band; amped because FREE; and amped because it gives us a reason to showcase a couple new selections from this incredible crew.

After the ambitious David Comes to Life in 2011 – which, essentially, was a punk opera that fused melodic arrangements and an emotional narrative with gripping hardcore – the band took a couple years to recuperate and return with Glass Boys, which will be out via Matador Records on June 3rd (details here). So far the band has shared two tracks from the album, “Paper the House” and “Led By Hand,” and while they seem to dial down the concept album-ness we heard on David, they keep pushing the boundaries of what punk can be. Listen to both below, and RSVP for the free show at Morgans Pier here.
