Non-COMM Recap: Benjamin Booker sets the stage for his self-titled debut LP

New Orleans’ Benjamin Booker closed out the upstairs stage showcases at tonight’s Non-COMMvention with a blistering set of rock and roll. The young musician heads up a power blues / rock trio that was recently signed to ATO Records, with a debut album scheduled to be released at the end of the summer.  The set was fast-paced and no frills, pulling five songs from the forthcoming effort (including single “Violent Shiver”) and one song that will not be on the record called “Lauren’s Car.”  It was clear from the audience’s reactions that this brief introduction to Booker and his music was more than enough to win over a room-full of new fans.  Check out photos and audio from the set below.
