On first listen, guitarist, singer and songwriter Ryley Walker sounds like a blast from the folk rock past, conjuring the spirits of Sixties folk icons Tim Hardin, Bert Jansch, John Martyn, and Tin Buckley. While the folk music of the Sixties is antecedent to Walker’s modern take on the troubadours of the past, the 24 year old, who hails from Chicago, draws inspiration from jazz and improvisational music. Walker’s debut album, All Kinds Of You, is a collection of alluring, intimate and captivating songs, strong in acoustic music tradition.

Walker recently made his debut on World Cafe. Listen to his session here. WXPN Welcomes Walker to Boot & Saddle with Kins on Monday, June 16th. Go here for tickets and more information about the show.
