Second Sky/ Photo by Jack Myers

Lancaster-based Second Sky is rooted in a dreamy blend of dub and electronica, but the band isn’t afraid to jump across genres. It’s debut album Art ofInfluence, released in 2011, fused downtempo, dub and musical styles from around the world, including Indian and Arabic, together to create an interesting, abstract listening experience. Now the band is set to release its second album, Touching the Surface, this summer and based off the album’s first single, “Purpose,” this album will be full of trippy futuristic tracks. “Purpose” feels almost like a drug-induced dream sequence, but it’s suffocating and dystopic. Watch the music video for “Purpose” below and see Second Sky play in Lancaster at Tellus360 on Saturday, June 14.
