Toronto punk favorites Fucked Up recently released a great video for their album Glass Boys, which dropped earlier this week. The band’s latest is a thought-provoking, reflective album, discussing the purpose and evolution of music. In an earlier interview with Pitchfork, the band discussed their feelings of unease as they slowly progress as musicians. In fact, several tracks on the new album, like “Paper the House” and “Echo Boomer” reveal more personal themes than the band’s previous work.

Fittingly, the album trailer (which you can watch below) has a host of the guest starts (DIIV, Sky Ferriera, and Parquet Courts among others) talk about their passion for music. It begins and ends with the legendary Penny Rimbaud (of the English punk band Crass) describing birdsong and his music. In between, Damian Abraham (lead singer of Fucked Up) describes why he pursued music.

I felt angry about the way the world worked, and I finally found a voice to that anger.

Similar quotes make the video thought-provoking and unlike Fucked Up’s previous albums.

Fucked Up will be playing a FREE show at Philly’s Morgan’s Pier. Get details here.
