Timothy Showalter, MKA Strand of Oaks, releases his new album, HEAL, on Tuesday, June 24th. Listen to the new album in its entirety here via NPR Music.

This month, Strand of Oaks is WXPN’s Artist To Watch, and he played at this year’s Non-COMMvention in May. He’ll be playing XPN’s Free At Noon on Friday, June 27th, and at Boot and Saddle on September 19th. On his past albums, Showalter spun surreal tales about alien abduction and John Belushi’s drug dealer. HEAL is Strand of Oaks’ most personal album, and it rocks. Showalter has traded in his acoustic guitars and indie-folkism in exchange for anthemic, classic rock sounds, soaring guitar solos and a more personal and confessional approach to his songwriting.
