Today, Philly power-pop band Mike Bell and the Movies released their new music video for “Everyone” via The A.V. Club. The song comes from their Nothing Works album, which came out earlier this year; it is an incredibly catchy record that also has an aggressive punk edge to it.

Likewise, the video for “Everyone” is funny with a violent edge. In it, lead singer, Mike Bell, strapped to a chair and taking a series of punches and slaps from, well, everyone. It ends with Bell looking defeated and bloody.  The juxtaposition between the violence of the video and the happy power guitar makes the video silly but interesting. Amusing side note: the video was done in one take; it was Bell’s only stipulation before he agreed to take a beating for the cameras.

Catch the band August 15th at Bourbon and Branch with It Looks Sad and Jet Set Sail. Get more details here. Watch the video below.
