Former lead singer of the Walkmen Hamilton Leithauser has set out on his solo career with the Jule release his debut album, Black Hours. With music reminiscent of the 1950s jazzy pop, Leithauser is expanding his sound, and brings his band to the Prince Music Theater tonight. Check out the XPN Concert Calendar for more information and listen to the single, “Alexandra,” below.

Downtempo hip-hop project Nightmares on Wax will perform tonight at Union Transfer. George Evelyn, who also goes by DJ Ease, is the man behind the experimental music. Evelyn’s music is ever-changing with his mood and environment. More information and tickets can be found on the XPN Concert Calendar.

Alt-punk heavyweights Brand New will be at the Mann Center tonight. Formed in 2000, the band has gained a cult-like following with its fans. Brand New hasn’t released a new album since its 2009 album, Daisy, so expect fan favorites to dominate the setlist. For more information and tickets, go to the XPN Concert Calendar.
