Ex Hex is the new project from Mary Timony (formerly of Helium and Wild Flag).  Their newest single “Don’t Wanna Lose” is explosive from the outset; it is loud, in your face and full of girl power.  Listen below and see their show tonight at Johnny Brenda’s along with Hospitality and local fuzz-pop outfit Hurry.  This show is 21+.

Sun Kil Moon’s latest record Benji takes you on an emotional roller coaster.  Mark Kozelek delves deep into personal stories about his childhood, including experiences he’s had regarding deaths of family members and life lessons he learned from his father.   The album makes profound statements about life, even doused in so many depressing topics.  Definitely give Benji a listen through and go out to Sun Kil Moon’s show tonight at Union Transfer.  Tickets and info here.

Connecticut indie rock group, Bronze Radio Return, will be at Haddon Lake Park tonight.  The six-piece group is currently on the road, and recently played Bunbury Music Festival in Cincinatti.  Catch these guys when they perform outdoors tonight in the park.

Shawn Smith at the Tin Angel (8 p.m., $10, 21+)
