Often when you see an artist billed as “A Special Evening With,” it usually means it’s going to be an acoustic performance, often a solo one. Todd Rundgren’s upcoming show at the Keswick Theatre is billed as “An Unpredictable Evening with” Todd Rundgren. This tells fans right up front to that he isn’t going to play Something/Anything in its entirety.

The overall tenor of his recent shows can be summed up best by this review from a show he did a year ago. Patrick Dunn wrote: “Some probably came expecting to hear hits spanning his 40-plus year music career, but diehard fans know to expect the unexpected.” Hmmmm. Last year at his solid Philadelphia Folk Festival performance, Rundgren’s set list included a handful of the classics – “I Saw The Light,” “Open My Eyes,” “Love of The Common Man,” and a few covers. Todd returns to Philly at the Keswick Theatre on Wednesday, October 29th. Tickets go on sale this Friday, July 25th at Noon. Go here for tickets and more information.
