This week XPoNential Music Festival artists The Hold Steady appeared on Conan to perform “I Hope This Whole Thing Didn’t Frighten You,” from their latest album, Teeth Dreams – it’s a song carried the trademark story-telling lyrics by frontman Craig Finn that we all know and love. So far, the album has received great reviews from outlets such as The Guardian, and USA Today. Also, since the addition of guitarist Steve Selvidge to the band, it appears that Finn is playing less guitar. It looks kind of weird to see him without a guitar, despite the fact it mainly just dangled around his neck more than he actually played it. But nonetheless, the performance is great, and you should check it out below. Once you’re done watching, buy tickets to their September 8th performance at Underground Arts on Callowhill Street here and get psyched to see them this weekend at XPN Fest.
