Local electro-dance group Instamatic recently rebranded themselves as 10 Million, and along with the name change came a shift in musical direction. Instrumentally, the band has added guitar and live drums, which you can watch them playing here. There’s also less focus on electronic beats and more emphasis on the instruments and vocals.
The group recently released their first song, “Defcon”. The music has elements of post-punk, with its characteristic clash of guitars and drums. What remains the same between the two groups is the energy level and the dark vibe to the music. The addition of the live drums and guitars serves to highlight the underlying scariness of the lyrics. Catch the band at Boot and Saddle August 29th with New Myths. Get more details about the show here. Listen to “Defcon” below.
