Local twang quartet Betty Iron Thumbs will play at Kung Fu Necktie tonight. The band recently released its sophomore album Teeth. Far from the sophomore slump that plagues some bands, the second album is a solid, strong compilation where “no two songs sound alike,” according to the Key’s Samantha Cressman.  Earlier this year, the band released the video for “Crazy” as well as a live performance video for “Promise Land”. Betty Iron Thumbs will be joined by Wisconsin’s Winter Bear and Philly’s Ruby Buff. Listen to the title track from Teeth below. Get more details about the show at the XPN Concert Calendar.

Philly electro-pop outfit Little Strike will be playing at the The Annex at Little Berlin. Little Strike, aka Tamar Dart, recently released her debut EP, Forever Always Leaving. The beautiful new EP has a youthful tone, though at times it can be melancholy. Check out “Meaningful Arrangement” below. Listen to a live performance of the song here. Catch Little Strike along with Julia Rainer. Get more details here.
