No longer with the major label they signed to when they released 2013’s Inheritance, the folk rock “Mountain Chamber” band The Last Bison are ready to rock the indie route with a new album, VA, out on September 30th. Just a little over a year ago The Last Bison, dressed in their Civil War era garb, took to the Marina Stage at the 2013 XPoNential Music Festival and blew away the audience with their dramatic acousticana, filled with swirling guitars, violins, cellos, bells, percussion and Hardesty’s demanding lead vocals. The new album picks up with Inheritance left off, with more anthemic, insistent, carefully written and arranged songs. This time around, they rock a little harder. In fact, they’ve added a full drum kit into the mix giving their ornate songs a fuller sound.

The band play World Cafe Live on Saturday, October 18th. Go here for tickets and more information. Below, download “Every Time” from the band’s forthcoming release.
