The 23rd Annual Ukrainian Folk Festival is Sunday in Horsham. This cultural celebration is complete with Ukrainian dishes, beers and baked goods. In addition, four main acts are set to play on stage, including a Ukrainian violinist, a colorful and acrobatic dance act, an electronic band that infuses traditional Ukrainian music, and the Voloshky Ukrainian Dance Ensemble, known for their melding of Ukrainian dance and world culture. A social Ukrainian dance called Zabava is going to be featured on stage after the main show while traditional and modern Ukrainian music is performed in the background.

David Ebner’s 50 Years of Studio Furniture blurs the line between art and furniture at the Moderne Gallery. Woodwork is the highlight of Ebner’s style, and pieces such as a scallion-shaped coat rack display his ingenuity. There are over 30 other creations as well, including simple tables, smoothed out cabinets, and a swiveling armchair. Its run has been extended through August 31.

Comic Energy Philly is hosting two sketch comedy shows Saturday night that will be featured on their new TV series. The two sketch shows are completely different from one another, and are going to feature the live studio audience’s reactions as part of the television show. The shows are both at Penn’s Landing Caterers.

The premier of indie film As It Is In Heaven is set to screen at the Philadelphia Mausoleum of Art on Sunday. The movie revolves around a small religious sect as it awaits the prophesied end of the world.

Tyler Arboretum’s Butterfly Festival is Saturday. Patrons are invited to enjoy the arboretum while learning all about butterflies and getting a close-up view of them.

The 7th Barbecue at the Ballpark kicks off Saturday afternoon at the Jetro Lot of Citizens Bank Park. Local breweries have their crafts present as Sweet Lucy’s Smokehouse lays out a buffet. All proceeds from the tickets go towards the Marianne E. Merbert Memorial Fund, which funds research for curing triple negative breast cancer.

Philadelphia Sketch Club hosts their Absolutely Abstract juried exhibition. Over 50 artists are displaying their unique abstracts from Friday through September 13th.

Cirque Du Soleil‘s Varekai performers are making their way to the Absecon Lighthouse in Absecon, New Jersey Friday night to meet and greet with fans.

Cirque Du Soleil have seven performances of Varekai in Atlantic City at Boardwalk Hall as well, including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday shows. The show is about a young hero descending into a world of mystical creatures and absurd reality.
