Lost On The River: The New Basement Tapes, is a new collaborative album project from Elvis Costello, Rhiannon Giddens (Carolina Chocolate Drops), Taylor Goldsmith (Dawes), Jim James (My Morning Jacket), Marcus Mumford (Mumford & Sons) and producer T Bone Burnett. The album, which will be released on November 11th, celebrates the discovery of never before heard handwritten Bob Dylan lyrics from his 1967 “Basement Tapes” writing and recording period.

Last year, producer and musician T-Bone Burnett was notified by Dylan’s publisher that a box of never before seen handwritten lyrics by Dylan was found, and Burnett was asked if he was interested in doing something with them. The answer was this new collection of songs recorded in March at Capitol Studios in Hollywood, where the musicians and Burnett convened for two weeks to write and create music for these recently discovered lyrics. The recording sessions were captured on film by Sam Jones and will be released as a documentary. The album, which features 20 songs, will be released digitally and on vinyl.
