If you’ve been following the pages and website Rolling Stone as of late, you might have noticed that local Philly artists have made quite a few appearances in the iconic rock magazine’s coverage, particularly from the city’s DIY scene. Here are a few we noticed in the past month.

Amanda X was mentioned in their 10 New Artists To Watch: September 2014 piece, published yesterday. The band was commended for its post-punk tunage on this year’s Amnesia LP, and it was clear that the group was super excited after they sent out this tweet in response:

Another Philly artist that grabbed Rolling Stone’s attention is Radiator Hospital. The group’s latest album Torch Song received a four star review this week from writer Rob Sheffield, who wrote that the album “combines pop-punk fervor with heart-on-sleeve tenderness and wit.”

Alex G, a local Philly indie-rocker, was recently the focus in an article hailing the 21-year-old artist for his contributions to the indie rock scene; the article isn’t available online, but you can see the impressive full-page spread in the image at the top of the page. Earlier this year, Rolling Stone also nodded at the young musician in their review of his most recent album, DSU.

Keep making Philly proud, guys!
