Steve Gunn has released a new video for “Way Out Weather,” the title track of his latest effort, which is set for release early next month on Paradise of Bachelors.  The clip follows up the album’s first single “Milly’s Garden” and presents the record as a thoughtful, contemplative take on experiencing all corners of the globe.

“Way Out Weather” awakens groggily and slowly before catching the ambling pace of Gunn’s guitar, supported by a silky pedal steel and lush echoes.  There’s no doubt that this is traveling music, something to listen to outside while experiencing the world.  And for those of us stuck inside, director KT Auleta brought the world to us – the video pulls footage from a 2007 motorcycle roadtrip taken while meandering through Mongolia.  There are galloping horses, rolling green hills, bright white yurts, bustling markets and miles of open dirt road.  It’s a glimpse into a place we don’t often see, and Gunn’s song plays easily along while coaxing the listener to think outside of the office for a few minutes.

Watch the video for “Way Out Weather” below.  Gunn will be back in Philadelphia on October 17th at PhilaMOCA for a record release show with Spacin’ and Mary Lattimore & Jeff Zeigler.  Tickets and information can be found here.  Watch the clip below.
