We were pretty pumped to hear that Philly indie rock faves Little Big League got signed by by Run For Cover Records earlier this summer, and today we’re equally psyched to hear the first single from the album they’re putting out this fall. “Tropical Jinx” blends intertwining guitar lines reminiscent of Built to Spill with blissed-out indie pop harmonies and frontwoman Michelle Zauner’s direct, personal lyrics. (I’m really feeling the closing line “At some point you decide if you want to love or be loved more and I chose the wrong road.”) Best of all, this nugget is under two minutes long, meaning I’ve pretty much had it on repeat since it premiered at Spin earlier this morning. Have yourself a listen here; the ten-track Tropical Jinx album is out on Run For Cover Records on October 14th. Below, listen to another recent favorite LBL jam, “Year of the Sunhouse.”
