Kiss your quiet walks through the streets of Philadelphia goodbye; on their new single, local group Cold Roses proclaims there will be “No Silence In The City.” The title track off of their upcoming debut full-length plays a bit of a prank as it starts off slow and melodic, but don’t let it fool you. A few seconds in and you’ll be grinning as a very late ’60s sounding guitar slides in, followed by a heavy punch of drums – these guys were born when?! The vocals of lead guitarist Rob Clancy are buttery and almost effortlessly lazy. If “No Silence In The City” is any indication of what is to come from these guys, we’re more than ready. Following their early 2013 EP The Georgia Fugue, album No Silence In They City is set to drop October 21. The Cold Roses will perform a hometown album release show at MilkBoy on November 1 with John the Conqueror. For tickets and more information head over to the XPN Concert Calender.
