DRGN King’s Baltimore Crush artwork by Perry Shall

Get excited because we just got word our homies in DRGN KING that their sophomore album, Baltimore Crush, is coming out October 28th via Bar/None Records! It has a rad album cover by Philly artist Perry Shall (check it out above) and comes with a fall tour, which includes a hometown show at Johnny Brenda’s on September 26th, as well as a show at City Hall’s new Dilworth Park on October 18th.

DRGN KING described the album in a statement:

The narrative takes the listener on trip through time and all from the point of view of the disenfranchised youth who are trying to make it on their own terms while still having fun…Baltimore Crush is a feverish ten-song meditation on memory, nostalgia and the dangers of being stuck in the past.

This album, unlike the band’s debut LP Paragraph Nights, was written and recorded by frontman Dominic Angelella and bandmate Brent Reynolds while Angelella was on tour, creating more of a back and forth dialogue during a lengthy production process. The two reunited with drummer Joe Baldacci and bassist Steve Montenegro to record the album at Kawari Sound in Wyncote.

Listen to the band’s first single from Baltimore Crush, “Solo Harp,” and check out our concert calendar here for more information on the band’s upcoming shows.
