Tonight, Fred Hersch Trio will be performing at the OutBeat Jazz Festival at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The composer and jazz pianist has garnered attention since the late 1970’s, working as a side man with popular jazz artists such as Stan Getz and Janis Siegel and gained notoriety as he continued to compose and produce new music, for which he has been recognized as a five-time Grammy nominee including this year’s Best Jazz Solo nomination for his latest album Free Flying. Watch him perform his beautiful piece “The Song Is You” at the Saint-Emilion Jazz Festival in 2013 below and for more event information, have a look at the XPN Concert Calendar. The OutBeat festival – the nation’s first LGBT jazz festival – continues all weekend at various venues in Philadelphia, get more information here.

Lily Allen, England’s loud-mouth pop sensation, will be headlining Electric Factory tonight. Allen’s blunt lyrics and overarching musical prowess have helped her to stand out among other pop artists and have attracted devoted audience she has today.  Tickets and more information can be found here. Watch below for her music video to “URL Badman”.

Indie R&B artist How to Dress Well will be playing an 18+ show tonight at District N9NE with doors opening at 8 PM. Tom Krell, the mastermind behind this unique music, released his new album What Is This Heart? earlier this year, and has most recently been featured in RL Grime’s newest album, Void, on the track “Reminder” and will continue to tour the U.S. throughout the rest of 2014. Check out his music video for his song “Repeat Pleasure” below! For more information on tonight’s event, visit the XPN Concert Calendar.
