Over the last several months, local composer Joshua Stamper has been rolling out remix tracks of his latest effort the skin, the sea, the sound (released last spring).  The collection of remixes, collectively titled a righter rain will fall, features contributions from Lushlife, Papertwin, Anthony LaMarca and now Chris Ward.

Ward, known to fans as one half of electronic experimental outfit Pattern is Movement, put his mark on Stamper’s closing track “The Silent Beach, the Bowl of Stars” – originally a brief, minute-long soundscape of rippling synths and swelling horns.  Ward’s version extends the song to three-minutes and sends it bristling through super crinkly distortion.  Add in some subtly dark drum machine hits and Ward’s remix is the yin to Stamper’s Yang.  Take a listen to the two tracks below and hear the full remix record here.
