Sometimes less is more, and the latest from Joshua Thomas is certainly one of those times. The talented local singer and songwriter has released a track titled “Beast” off his upcoming EP The Harboring. The tune is beautifully and simply composed, with the only pieces being Thomas’ strong voice and his expert tickling of the piano keys. Absent of various instruments and background music “Beast” showcases the classical tone of his voice, and we can feel his passion shooting straight through our headphones as he begs “cut me out, cut me out, ’cause I need to be lonely.” Thomas’ six-song EP The Harboring is set to drop September 29th, and will celebrate with a record release show at the First Unitarian Church on October 4th. You can pre-order tickets here, and head over to the XPN Concert Calender for more information. Below, listen to “Beast.”
