Local experimental project Son Step have shared a live video of members Jon Coyle and Joel Gleiser performing “One of Every” at August’s Magic Death Sounds Block Party, following up September’s ova nova EP release with an even newer song.

Usually a trio with Coyle’s brother Chris, this instance of Son Step has the duo facing off in a knob-twisting battle of keys and synths.  “One of Every” unfolds in a series of movements, stretching into a floating bubble of pop melody from its extended synth-distortion opening.  Gleiser’s key part in the last third is a beautifully classical juxtaposition to the background of fuzzy synths on Coyle’s end.

Son Step will participate in November’s Communion club night at Underground Arts, along with Norwegian Arms, Highasakite and more.  Tickets and information can be found here. Watch “One of Every” below and listen to ova nova here.
