Last Wednesday, alternative rock staples Rise Against put on a show to a packed crowd at Upper Darby’s Tower Theater. The Chicago band, touring in support of their 2014 album The Blank Market, brought along solid openers, beginning with Radkey, a three piece punk band from St. Joseph, Missouri. Their fast, upbeat and loud sound, and songs from singles released last year and this year, got audience members jumping around early on. Next up was Deathwish Inc. stars Touche Amore, which has seen a huge amount of success in the underground punk scene. However, this night they were playing for a very different crowd on a very different stage. Touche Amore brought their usual brand of hard-hitting, emotional, aggressive punk for an intense live performance, even if the crowd (which seemed unfamiliar with them) wasn’t totally feeling it. Headliners Rise Against definitely owned the show. Front man Tim McIlrath commanded the stage, jumping in the crowd, mixing both new and old tracks, and of course, ending the show with their most popular singles “Swing Life Away” and “Good Left Undone.” Check photos from the show below.
