On Saturday, October 25th, University of Pennsylvania’s Social Planning and Events Committee is bringing singer/songwriter Skylar Grey to World Cafe Live. Grey is an accomplished composer and lyricist, having been credited with co-writing tracks like “Love The Way You Lie” by Eminem and Rihanna, “Coming Home” by Diddy Dirty Money, “Clarity” by Zedd, and “I Need A Doctor” by Dr. Dre and Eminem. She’s also been featured on a number of records as a vocalist, working with artists like Kaskade, Moby, and David Guetta, in addition to releasing two studio albums and five EPs.

Skylar Grey’s sound is diverse; she never really settles in one specific genre of music, sometimes employing an upbeat electronic hip-hop beat and sometimes utilizing a mellow piano background over a slow pop groove, or anything in between. Philadelphia Americana regulars The Lawsuits will be supporting Skylar Grey; tickets are $10 for Penn students and $35 for the general public, more information can be found at the show’s Facebook event page.
