Purling Hiss share "weird and obscure" playlist with EW

Local fuzz rockers Purling Hiss dropped their new record Weirdon last month and celebrated by curating an 8-track playlist for Entertainment Weekly.  Describing the songs as having “a gritty lo fi/VHS aesthetic,” frontman Mike Polizze dipped into some of the bands and musicians he might credit with shaping the Purling Hiss motif.  Weirdon follows the band’s 2013 label debut Water on Marsand was released through Drag City.

The playlist mixes locals with out-of-towners, rockers with anti-rockers and an eye towards the unconventional with the inclusion of a WWE wrestler theme song courtesy of Dude Love.  Check out the partial Spotify playlist here and watch the full video playlist below.  Purling Hiss will bring Weirdon to the Arden Gild Hall in Delaware on December 6th; tickets and information can be found here.
