Ryley Walker signs to Dead Oceans, playing Boot & Saddle in March

Chicago singer-songwriter Ryley Walker has announced his sophomore release, Primrose Green, on Dead Oceans, on March 31st. In 2013, the indie-folk artist released The West Wind EP and his debut full length All Kinds of You to impressive accolades.

Walker’s music hearkens back to the jazz-folk work of Tim Buckley, with hints of folk legends Nick Drake, Bert Jansch, John Martyn, and Pentangle. He’s a remarkable guitar player, and his acoustic based songs become mini sprawling jazz workouts. He appeared on World Cafe in May, 2014; you can listen to the session here.
