SXSW has announced the third wave of bands that will appear at the interactive music / film / technology festival in Austin this March, and several more Philadelphia acts are on the list. They’ll be joining previously tapped locals Cheerleader, Low Cut Connie, Time For Three and The Districts. Check out a rundown of the new additions below.

Cold Fronts signed a record deal with Warner Brothers / Sire Records in the spring of 2013 and delivered their label debut this past November with FOREVER.

Indie pop outfit and recent Vagrant Records recruits CRUISR dropped a debut EP called All Over in October, packing Boot & Saddle for the release show and subsequently opening for labelmates The 1975 at the Tower.

Da’ T.r.u.t.h is a Christian music project from Philadelphia whose new record Heartbeat was released last April. The LP is up for Rap / Hip Hop CD of the Year for the Stellar Awards.

Alex G is another recently signed Philly band (on Orchid Tapes) whose 2014 LP DSU got them a spotlight in Rolling Stone and seemingly non-stop tour dates.

XPoNential Music Festival alums Marian Hill have been rocketing up the radar since the summer and the release of their Play EP, which got spins and remixes from local bands and out-of-towners alike.

OCD: Moosh & Twist have a “new mixtape new free album whatever you want to call it” coming out soon so you can expect the hip hop duo to perform new material in Austin.

Self Defense Family have been staying a little low key lately after releasing their fourth record Try Me last January, a follow-up EP Duets this past fall and subsequent tour with Restorations.

South Philly newcomers Sheer Mag had a lot of buzz surrounding their debut 7″ last fall, and will hopefully preview new material in their gritty punk vein down south.

Son Little‘s “The River” has found a home across the radio spectrum, including satellite and alternative stations, following the release of his Things I Forgot EP last November. (The band plays The Key’s free Fireside Sessions concert on Saturday; info here.)
