Philly’s Son Little made a splash last year with the Things I Forgot EP and is shaping up to have a nice 2015. The project of Aaron Livingston – who worked with RJD2 in the Icebird project and is an affiliate of The Roots crew – today was featured on NPR’s World Cafe with David Dye. In the interview, Livingston talked about his transition from collaborator to solo artist, and also his move from Jersey to Philly, calling it a matter of “intuition” guiding him.

In addition to the Cafe session, Son Little is also appearing at the January edition of The Key’s Fireside Sessions at the Blue Cross RiverRink Winterfest this Saturday, January 17th, at 8 p.m. Admission to the event is free, no RSVP is necessary and more information can be found at the XPN Concert Calendar.

Below, listen to Son Little’s interview on World Cafe in its entirety and download a performance of “Joy,” an outtake from the session. In addition you can watch video of “Joy” filmed when Son Little was at WXPN for the Key Studio Sessions.
