A Dr. Dog concert is filled with non-stop energy from both the crowd and the Philly indie-rock heroes. In an effort to catch some of that charm, the Philly-based group just released a live album, Live at a Flamingo Hotel, which is of surreal sound quality. The  19-track album was recorded during a 20-day tour in 2014 and features songs from six of their studio albums.

Today, the band released a video for the song “The Rabbit, The Bat & The Reindeer,” a live favorite from their 2008 release, Fate. The video opens with bassist Toby Leaman howling out a soulful tune in a backstage corridor, warming up as he and the band are about to go on. Once the song kicks in, the music video is a portrayal of their wild presence and antics on-and-off the stage.

The short film also captures exactly what a Dr. Dog show is like: a dancing, foot-stomping experience. The guys played a killer, two-hour set at the Mann Center back in September with Philly pals Hop Along, Jersey’s The Front Bottoms, and New York’s Mac Demarco, which you can see a review of here. The band is currently on a US tour in support of their live album (though there are no Philly dates just yet). Check out the video for “The Rabbit, The Bat & The Reindeer” below.
