For what many regard as an artist that redefined the way we looked at the musical genres of R&B and Hip-hop, the revered Fugee and solo star Lauryn Hill will be performing an acoustic show at the Keswick Theatre on March 28th.

Hill has been away from the musical scene for quite some time, going on sporadic tours here and there and releasing random singles that include her Grammy nominated song “The Passion.” Upon her decision to further exile herself from the industry following 1998’s The Miseducations of Lauryn Hill, the artist many refer to as their musical inspiration found herself in trouble with the law and had many fans wondering if they’d ever get to hear the “That Thing” artist grace them with her conscious rhymes and elegant aura.

1998’s The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill remains to be only one of two hip hop based albums to ever win the coveted Grammy for Album of the Year (The other being Outkasts Speakerboxxx/The Love Below).  Rolling Stone included it in their list of the 500 greatest albums of all time, ranking at number 314, while credited hip hop publication XXL gave it their highest rating.  The only solo release Lauryn Hill has ever put out remains to be a captivating piece of music that continues to influence generations.  Her persona in music has surely been felt and her performance at the Keswick Theatre is definitely something no music fan would want to miss.

Last November, Hill played a fantastic set at The Electric Factory with a full band; the Keswick Theatre show will be more scaled back and intimate, but we’re sure just as exciting. Tickets for the show go on sale tomorrow at noon; more information can be found at the XPN Concert Calendar.
