West Chester’s Wave Radio head down Lancaster Ave for a show at Melodies Cafe tonight. The indie rock trio took first place at last year’s Beta Hi Fi competition at World Cafe Live thanks their full, cinematic style that John Vettese compares to Jukebox the Ghost. Wave Radio the debut album was released in 2012 and is available as a name-your-own-price download on Bandcamp. British electro-pop outfit London Grammar braved blizzard conditions in Boston a few nights ago and are bringing the show to the Electric Factory tonight. In an interview with The Key’s Kerri Ann Raimo earlier this week, guitarist Dan Rothman talked about the exciting momentum the band is gathering in the U.S. after winning over their home country in 2013 with their debut LP If You Wait. Local bassist Julie Slick and her new musical partner Marco Machera bring their exploratory instrumentals to Hard Rock Cafe tonight. The pair met in 2011 at a camp organized by King Crimson’s Tony Levin and Pat Mastelotto and decided to “expand the vocabulary of the bass” together.
