Lithuania has been relatively quiet over the past ten years of their existence, but rightfully so. The members of the Philly band have been busy with other projects like Dr. Dog (Eric Slick) and DRGN King (Dominic Angelella). The band is now a four-piece, and recently released a lo-fi 7″ called Domesticated God, which they followed up with a new single, the very grungey “Pieces.”

The track is something new for the Philly duo; Domesticated God is more along the lines of their earlier, experimental sound. “Pieces” has a heavier distortion, and a catchy punk rock feel that may preview what to expect from their upcoming LP, Hardcore Friends. The lyrics (delivered loudly) have that bittersweet 90’s feel with lines like “disappear into a million pieces of the world.”

Back in December, Lithuania played a sold-out secret show at the First Unitarian Church with The Districts (under the pseudonym Eight-Legged Prawn) and mewithoutYou (taking on the name Thy Foes Profanely Rage). Even if this track is a teaser for a completely different sound, we can still expect something exciting from these tenured Philly musicians.
