Watch Philly rocker Dave Hause talk songwriting and Devour on Last Call with Carson Daly

“I’m Dave Hause; I’m from Philadelphia, I make up songs and try to sing it in key.” That’s how the Philadelphia songwriter opened his spotlight on Last Call with Carson Daly this week, touching on topics ranging from his childhood in a religious, post-Hippie musical household to the intense songwriting process for his latest LP, Devour.

The interview incorporates the music video for “We Could Be Kings,” which was recorded in the Asbury Lanes bowling alley, as well as footage of Hause and his band in the studio. The Philly rocker also discusses the emotional experience of playing a stripped-down performance in a coffee shop versus a show in front of thousands of people.
