The first movie trailer for the soon to be released Brian Wilson biopic “Love and Mercy” is out. Watch it after the jump.

“Love And Mercy” opens June 5th and details the life & times of Beach Boys’ icon Brian Wilson. It stars actor Paul Dano stars as the young Brian Wilson, while John Cusack portrays Wilson later in life. Paul Giamatti plays Wilson’s psychotherapist, the late Dr Eugene Landy.

Brian Wilson said about the film:

I am thrilled that Paul Dano has signed on to play me during one of my most creative explosions and most fulfilling musical times in my career. I still can’t believe how cool it is that my life will be portrayed on the big screen and to have Bill Pohlad as the captain of the Sloop John B is amazing! It just makes me feel so humble. I can’t wait to see it with a full tub of buttered popcorn.

The last surviving member of 50’s doo-wop group,”The Spaniels” has died. Willie C. Jackson passed away last week at the age of 79. The Spaniels are probably best known for the 1954 hit, “Goodnight, Sweetheart, Goodnight.”

The original version of “Goodnight, Sweetheart, Goodnight” peaked at #5 on the R&B Best Sellers chart. The best-selling version of the song was recorded by The McGuire Sisters in 1954.

The Spaniels are said to have pioneered the technique of having the main singer (in this case the late Pookie Hudson) solo at his own microphone, while the rest of the group shared a second microphone.

The Spaniels, (who all came from Gary, Indiana) have been referred to as the first successful Midwestern R&B group.

Last night’s Brit Awards may be remembered more for who fell then for who won. The British version of the Grammys, featured a live performance by Madonna but her long cape proved a little too much to handle as she took a nasty fall when performing her new single “Living For Love.” Watch a clip below.

A breakaway cape Madonna was wearing was supposed to fall away from her body but instead remained attached, pulling her backward down three stairs and sending her tumbling onto her back. She quickly got up and finished the song. Madonna says she’s OK, and said her cape was tied too tight.

As for the recipients Brit Awards: Ed Sheeran won British album of the year & British male solo artist of the year. Sam Smith also won a pair of awards: British breakthrough act and global success. Taylor Swift was named best international female artist, while Pharrell Williams was named best international male act. The Foo Fighters won Best international group and Mark Ronson’s “Uptown Funk” with Bruno Mars took the Brit-Award for best British single.
