Toronto indie rockers Alvvays step things up with an announcement of their biggest Philly show to date, a headlining slot at Union Transfer on June 12th. Continuing to tour in support of their debut self-titled effort from last year, the band has been gaining fast momentum close to home and abroad.

Alvvays the record reached #1 on the CMJ charts shortly after its release, while Alvvays the band has already been asked to join The Decemberists on a spring tour (if the Canadiens’ June headlining show can’t come soon enough for you, maybe catch them with the Portlandites at the Academy of Music on April 7th, too).

Listen back to Alvvays’ Indie Rock Hit Parade session from last fall here and check out the video for “Archie, Marry Me” below. Tickets for the Union Transfer show go on sale this Friday, March 6th, at Noon and will be available here.
