Kevin Killen covers The Pogues' "Streets of Sorrow" in honor of St. Patrick's Day

To honor St. Patrick’s Day, local folk singer-songwriter Kevin Killen has released a cover of “Streets of Sorrow,” originally recorded by Celtic rock band The Pogues for their 1988 album If I Should Fall From Grace With God.

Killen’s soothing vocals make for a refreshing take on the track, an Americana rendition featuring Dave Mowry of Beaucoup Blue on slide guitar and pianist Devon Baran, an intern at Philly’s Cambridge Sound Studios (where Jim Salamone and Todd Mecaughey engineered, mixed and mastered the track).

Killen also shot urban to rural ground for the track’s music video:
