Waxahatchee | photo by Ryan Russell

This week, Waxahatchee released a music video that is perfectly retro: a lo-fi VHS look, behind-the-scene candid shots, and it even has those old-school music video titles to kick it off.

Directed by Philly’s own Eddie Austin and Perry Shall and shot at Golden Tea House, the gritty video is a good accompaniment for the angst-infused “Under A Rock,” where Crutchfield croons, “Now you’re someone else’s mess tonight.”

The song is from Waxahatchee’s forthcoming Ivy Tripp, dropping on Monday, April 6; read more about the album in Crutchfield’s interview with The Key’s Rob Huff, stream it here via NPR Music’s First Listen and see Waxahatchee when they play Union Transfer on Wednesday, April 8th. Tickets and more information can be found at the XPN Concert Calendar.
