A topic heard quite frequently throughout music is the ability (or inability) to break a bad relationship habit.  Artists always seem to write their best when they’re drawing from personal experience.  For Philadelphia electropop newcomer Ettie, it’s no different.  Her recent single “Muscle Memory” seems to be drawn from an inability to let go of a significant other, as she sings: “I don’t have many passions / Yeah, I’m seldom sincere / But I got this one habit / And it’s you, my dear.”

The idea is explored throughout the five and a half minute song, matched with bright synthesizers and breezy beats as Ettie sings “it’s automatic / you’re muscle memory now.” It’s a very relatable and likable pop jam; check it out below and hear more at Ettie’s Bandcamp.
