Rolling Stone has premiered the first single off of a collaborative new record from RJD2 and STS. The two Philadelphia artists will release STS x RJD2 next month, giving us a taste of what’s to come with the uplifting “Hold On, Here It Go.”

A billowing piano sits beneath STS’s politically-focused verse before the epic concert band chorus drops back in, courtesy of the Bohemian Dub Orchestra. It’s the Rocky theme song of 2015 – motivational, sentimental and brutally honest. From Rolling Stone:

“Rarely do I cut a track and get the goose bumps, slam dunk type feeling right away, but it happened on this one,” [RJD2] tells Rolling Stone. “To give it some momentum, the chord changes keep shifting up octaves every 8/16 bars or so. Definitely one of my proudest moments ever making rap music.”

Listen to “Hold On, Here It Go” here and watch STS’s video for “How Philly Used to Sound” below. STS performs at Key Fest at MilkBoy on Saturday, April 25th; tickets and more information can be found at the XPN Concert Calendar.
