MusicNotes from the XPN Morning Show: Watch Nirvana play a living room concert in the mid ’80’s, Willie Nelson & Merle Haggard team-up on a new album, & “ABBA” restaurant to open in Sweden.



The soon to be released documentary: “Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck” shows video of a very young Nirvana playing a living room show for 3 people. Band members appear to by 16 or 17 years old. Watch.

Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard will team up for a new album. Nelson says they called the album ” “Django and Jimmie” because the title track is about two of their influences, jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt and country legend Jimmie Rodgers. Nelson and Haggard also pay tribute to each other. Nelson sings Haggard’s song “Somewhere Between,” and Haggard sings Nelson’s song “Family Bible.” The album comes out June 2nd.

Coming soon to Stockholm Sweden: “Mamma Mia,” the restaurant. ABBA’s Bjorn Ulvaeus says that a restaurant tentatively named “Nicos’ Taverna” will open in January. The restaurant will put on a show with a story line about Nicos, who is Greek, and his Swedish wife. Actors will invite diners to sing and dance to ABBA songs. The story line will change slightly every night. Ulvaeus says if the concept works, he may open similar restaurants in other cities. He says the other members of ABBA are not involved but they wish him well with the project.
