After nearly 14 years of making experimental indie rock, Philly’s Pattern Is Movement announced this week they’re calling it a day – but not before going out with a bang. They duo will embark on its last tour in June, ending in their hometown at Johnny Brenda’s on June 20.

In addition to the tour, the band will be featured in the next season of Weathervane Music’s Shaking Through series with The Dead Milkmen, Mutual Benefit and Northern Arms that will be released in mid-May.

Since the 2004 release of The (Im)possibility of Longing, Andrew Thibodeaux and Chris Ward have defied convention with each album – most recently including last year’s self-titled record, their fourth LP, which ventured into a soulful R&B / jazz sound. Coinciding with their farewell run, their label Hometapes Records announced they would reissue PiM’s back-catalogue.

Norwegian Arms and Dream Safari will open up their farewell show at Johnny Brenda’s on June 20th; tickets and more information can be found at the XPN Concert Calendar.
