Accompanied by a string quartet, Philly band Sonnder wasn’t afraid to mix modern rock with orchestral melodies in their latest single, “Not Far Enough.”

In their monthly singles project, the four-piece group delivers post-rock riffs that blend with string arrangements by Robby Webb and sway with lead singer Ryan Weidman’s powerful vocals. The band seems to take a page from Metric on this outing with the track’s spacey melodic rock feel. Weidman’s voice works through the lyric “Far away is not far enough for you to plead honestly,” meeting with loud beats that show the band’s heavier rock side.

You can check out their latest track, “Not Far Enough,” on their Soundcloud below and catch Sonnder playing at the Cellar Door Art Gallery in New Hope, Pa. on May 1.
